Allegro
Great food in a fine dining Italian-American atmosphere featuring excellent appetizers, great steaks, world class wedding soup (chicken endive), killer Swedish meatballs, and generally very well-prepared food. Located at 40th Street and Broad Avenue in the Eldorado section of Altoona, it’s really not far from everything, but ask for directions since there are numerous ways to get there.

Finelli’s Italian Villa
Here’s another fine dining restaurant with that classic Italian-American atmosphere. Excellent food, especially the Filet Mignon, and the area’s best wine selection. If you spend a little time in the bar before your meal, you’ll probably get a chance to ask owner Frank Fanelli about his travels back to his roots in Italy. You’ll have to order another drink if you want to see all the pictures.

Blairmont Club
This is a private club with top shelf atmosphere, small town friendly service, a great view of Hollidaysburg, and now, excellent food. The club has seen its share of chefs in a quest for someone really good, and it seems that they have finally found him. Sitting on the patio in the summer time is special with a spectacular view of the quaint borough of Hollidaysburg. Located in the Sylvan Hills area of Hollidaysburg on Larch Street.
